Here is the latest on the Red Tide outbreak. It is turning into a real disaster both enviornmentally and economically. I haven't been fishing around here for a couple of months now because of it.

I feel for you man. It seems a lot of problems are coming to light all over the world lately. We have our share in the great lakes. I think people need to take better care of our world. We are never to fast to point the finger at ourselves. Its the same with global warming. People say well the climate is always changing. Thats true but evidence exist that it has never changed this rapidly before. It is ignorant for humans to think that our actions and the way we live have no effect on our planet. These disasters sadden me but there will be more to come.

TB,
that really sucks man. I would've figured all of those hurricanes should have brought the algae ashore and thus killing it. Or, are the 'canes responsible for causing the thermoclinic layer change which favors the algae? Apparently there is no way to kill the stuff without nasty environmental side effects. Hang in there man!

We thought the fishing in Sarasota Bay area was the worst last winter we'd ever seen (I spend 6 months there Oct-May), but by the sound of this article it'll be even worse this winter.
