I'm thinking of picking up a 10' 7 weight Echo Fly Rod. It's not a rod I want to sink a whole lot of money in as I have 3 six weights, and 3 eight weights. The rod is designed by Tim Rajeff of casting and G Loomis fame. So I'm sure its a great rod, but I have not casted it yet. Anyone have any experiance with these?
Thanks

I got the Echo 2 10' 5 wt a little over a year ago. It's the rod I grab if I'm going to be nymphing all day. I don't know why the 7 wt wouldn't perform like the other Echos.

It's nit picking, I know, but there are two Rajeffs. Steve Rajeff is of G Loomis fame and Tim Rajeff is of Echo fly rods.
Just thought I would mention it....

I don't know much about them, but this 3-weight torture test video was pretty impressive

I have nothing but good things to say about ECHO rods...
I own a 9' 8wt and its a very nice rod. The 10' 7wt you mentioned I saw that at a show this year...Dble Haul bought it.
Just for comparision these are the ECHO classic rods - I have only cast one of the ECHO two-tip rods and it was a 12wt and the show guy only had the one tip.
Now as a company...I can not recommend ECHO. I had an issue with one of their reels - basically it shattered and I tried to contact them via email, and telephone. I can't say that I received bad customer service - just no service - I reached voice mail and left a couple messages, and a couple emails. I never received any response. Eventually I just took the thing back to the shop I bought it from and the shop guy gave me a store credit, which translated into like 15 packs of yak hair.
If given the choice between an ECHO reel or 15 packs of yak hair, I suggest you take the hair.

SJ,
I appreciate your candid feedback. I will take that into my consideration before making the purchase. I think i have a bead on a used one I can pick up for a little under $100. So it might be worth the risk.
Thanks again
